Top notes will be what notes will pop up first and burn off the quickest, while base notes will be deep and linger on for a long time. "Top Note" doesn't necessarily mean the strongest scent and "base note" doesn't necessarily mean the weakest!

    Editing my original review for this particular candle…

    After lighting it twice and letting it fully melt across the top after a few hours, I haven’t noticed even the faintest scent. There is no throw at all whatsoever which is really disappointing because when you smell it not lit you’re able to smell the scent. :(
